Three Tips to Ensure an Unforgettable Date

Dating is a lot of fun and meeting a person who shares your interests and feelings is exhilarating. Also, when dating, you explore new sides of yourself, which can be enlightening and interesting.

When you are out on a date, there are no fixed rules as such. Every date is different and it is best to just go along with it. However, there are a few tips that might be helpful in getting the most out of the date and enjoying your time with your new friend.

Be punctual

It is good manners to be punctual. If you arrange to meet somewhere at 8PM be there at 8PM or a few minutes early. It is rude to be late and will give your date the impression that you are not that interested in him or bothered about the date. Also, being late will start the date on a bad note. Even if you have excuses, it will still not look good.

Be calm

It is normal to have butterflies in your stomach before a big date, both from excitement and mild alarm, but try not to let nerves get in the way of having a good time. What is the worst thing that could happen? Your date might not be successful or you might be compatible. What if it isn't successful? Well, there will be others! Once you realize the worst thing that could happen is not actually that bad, you should relax more. Take deep breaths and decide you are going to have fun.

Be honest

When you are on a date, be yourself! This includes being honest and not telling far-fetched yarns to impress your date. The odds are that he will see right through them and wonder why you feel the need to lie in order to impress him. Your life is interesting and everyone has good stories to tell. Just talking about your hobbies and interests is fine for a first date. Avoid prying questions and do not discuss past relationships or anything gloomy. The first date should be light-hearted and fun and telling tall tales will only get you into trouble when your date realizes they were not true.

These are just three helpful tips. The most important thing is to be yourself. If the two of you feel a mutual attraction and interest in one another, there will probably be more dates and who knows? You might even have found yourself a lifetime partner.

Online Dating - The Risks Involved

Although dating can be an exciting time in your life, as it infers whole new beginnings or meeting possible lifetime partners, it can also be a little bit dangerous, as you are essentially putting your trust in a stranger's hands. If you've never even met the person before, such as in a blind date or from an online source, this can be doubly true – therefore, you should take care to approach dating in the right way and be aware of the risks involved.

Online dating can be both good and bad in this respect. The good part comes from the fact that you've usually spoken to the person in length before meeting up, so you have a good idea of what they're like as a person. However, this is also the bad point, as anyone can make up an identity to hide behind online, and it can be far different from reality.

As recent US studies have shown, violent dates are on the rise, especially where younger, adolescent women are involved. With the "knowledge" that they need never see them again, many men are taking advantage of this fact and physically abusing a woman on a date, especially in the area of first dates where there is no prior history. These sad statistics also point out that unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, such as HIV and others, are on the increase because of these risks.

It's a sad fact, but generally, women are physically weaker than men, and this is attributed to one of the reasons why dating abuse is becoming more widespread. Although it may seem like a good idea at first, since it keeps a certain distance, online dating is one of the ways that this kind of problem is commonly used, as men can pretend to be someone they're not, and then by the time you meet them in person, it's too late. It's to this effect that local governments are recognising this fact and integrating warnings and advice into their crime fighting policies.

One of the ways that online dating has taken off so much is due to the normal heartache that is suffered from the breakdown of a "normal" offline relationship. Many people, especially women, see online dating as a worthwhile alternative – after all, they've not had any success offline so where's the harm in online dating? Yet this is exactly where the dangers can lie, due to world wise people taking advantage of emotionally vulnerable targets.

Like any kind of dating, there is always the potential of being taken for a ride, both financially and emotionally. As long as you go into it with your eyes open, and be aware that not everyone may be who they say they are, then online dating can be as satisfying and fulfilling as any other kind of dating. However, due to the anonymity of it all, you just need to exercise a little bit of extra caution.

Preparing For That Big Date

It is normal to be both excited and nervous when preparing for a big date. The better prepared you are, the more relaxed the date will be for you both.

Try to set the date for a few days away. If you set the date for the following evening you will panic about not being prepared in time. If you set the date too far ahead, you will get very impatient and wish you had not made it so late. And your potential date might meet someone else in the meantime!

Pick a venue, which is relatively informal. If you go somewhere stuffy, you might feel awkward or uncomfortable and that is the last thing you want on a date. A nice place where you can feel at ease is best, perhaps somewhere you have been before so you know what to expect.

A lunch date is a good idea if it is your first date with somebody. If you get along well, you can spend the afternoon together too. A dinner date might be better as a second or third date. A lunch date can still be romantic but a first date is more about getting to know somebody.

Try to look presentable. This includes wearing clean clothes, having clean hair and nails and smelling fresh. Looking scruffy will imply that your date is not worth the effort.

Conversation should be light and flowing. Try not to discuss anything too heavy or depressing. Do not talk about past relationships that went wrong, especially on a first date. Light-hearted chat about work, your hobbies and interests is fine. Don't forget to ask your date questions about their interests too. Remember that silences need not be awkward. If you run out of things to say, don't panic. Just enjoying one another's company is pleasant enough.

The most important thing to remember is not to get stressed. Dates should not be terrifying experiences. Go out expecting to enjoy your date and the odds are that you will have a great time!

Steps to Asking Someone Out on a Date

This is the moment of truth, no more indecisions this is the moment you have being waiting for and only you can make it happened. Your probably thinking ok but how is the best way to go about it. Where do you start is up to you because you are choosing the person out on a date so the first step is actually asking your dream date out on a date.

These essential tips are simple so if you are having a hard time asking that special someone out on a date go back to these steps.

1 I will start with the negative first to get it over and done with is what happens if he or she said that dreaded word NO? Personally if they say no it is their loss as far as I'm concerned so do not see it as a kick in the guts to you. See it as they have lost a opportunity of happiness with you so they really are the one you should feel bad for.

2 Be prepared for the destination of the date so when the person said yes give them the details. If you do not know where to go write a list until you can come up with the correct destination.

3 When asking the person out it's better to do it when they are alone then with all their friends nearby.

4 Do not put pressure on a person when asking them out. If they say no so be it.

5 Be yourself so do not have a few drinks then ask the person out. You may feel braver but be your true self it is more attractive and more reassuring for the person you are asking out.

6, Practise what you want to say. Write it down you do not have to remember every word this is just so when you are ready to ask that special someone out on a date you have a good idea of what you are going to say. Also write down the reasons why you are asking them out.

7, Remember this when asking that special someone out he or she is just as lucky to have you, as you are to have them so go and ask them out. I would always prefer to know then regret what if afterwards.

Take note of these tips, enjoy the dating scene and I hope you end up with that special someone you both deserve.

Top 4 Surefire Ways to Attract a Relationship

Janis was a success at business. Mid-career she rose to executive level at her company. She enjoyed balance at home with gardening and fitness. She had a good life, but something was missing—a heart-felt connection. Someone to share the daily ups and downs. Someone to experience life with. She followed these four steps to find her match. You can too.

Here are 4 surefire ways to attract a fulfilling relationship.

1. Know what you want.

What do you really want in a relationship? Type or write down the 10 most important qualities you want in a significant other. If you could attract your ideal partner, what characteristics and interests would he or she have? For example, Janis put, "great communication, fun and fitness" at the top of her list. You can include what you'd like this person to look like and also who he or she is on the inside. List physical attributes you prefer, personality styles you like and interests that match or contrast with your own. Then start to notice the people around you who possess the qualities you're looking for.

2. Know what you don't want.

OK, you know what you want. Now ask yourself: What don't I want in a relationship? After your list of relationship wants, type or write down 10 things you don't want. A former client of mine says it well: "My ex-husband was dynamic, attractive and very fun. He was also an alcoholic. I was still after the fun, attractive, and dynamic parts, just not the alcoholism. It was really crucial for me to identify what I didn't want in a relationship. It made it a lot easier to find the wonderful man I'm with today."

3. Change your mind.

What are your beliefs about relationships? Check out the thoughts that are floating around in your head—they will affect your ability to attract someone. The disempowering beliefs usually speak loudest. For example, Janis used to say to herself, "There are no available good men out there." Could she find evidence in the world to support this? Yes. But she could also find evidence to support a different idea. So she changed her belief to "Exactly the right man is out there for me," and continued to say this to herself. This helped her attract a great life partner whom she adores. Write down 3 of your own disempowering relationship beliefs. Then lock up your inner critic or cynic for 5 minutes, and come up with 3 new beliefs that inspire you.

4. Let your matchmakers know.

If you were looking for a new job, you'd tap into your network. Why should looking for a relationship be any different? Use the matchmakers in your life to help you find your new partner. Don't be shy. Put your ego aside in the name of attracting your ideal mate. Another former client, Jim, did this through an eloquent e-mail. He listed his "wants" and "don't wants" in a relationship and sent the list to people he thought would be good "recruiters." He now enjoys a relationship with a local athletic mother of one – an instant family! As business owner Kathleen recently said, "If you truly want to be in a relationship, then all your actions will line up with that intention. In the past, I've asked friends if they knew anyone who might be a good fit for me." Be clear with your friends on what you're looking for. And thank them for sending potential partners your way.

Start the process of attracting a relationship today. Use these 4 steps to get you started. You'll be glad you did.
