Three Tips to Ensure an Unforgettable Date

Dating is a lot of fun and meeting a person who shares your interests and feelings is exhilarating. Also, when dating, you explore new sides of yourself, which can be enlightening and interesting.

When you are out on a date, there are no fixed rules as such. Every date is different and it is best to just go along with it. However, there are a few tips that might be helpful in getting the most out of the date and enjoying your time with your new friend.

Be punctual

It is good manners to be punctual. If you arrange to meet somewhere at 8PM be there at 8PM or a few minutes early. It is rude to be late and will give your date the impression that you are not that interested in him or bothered about the date. Also, being late will start the date on a bad note. Even if you have excuses, it will still not look good.

Be calm

It is normal to have butterflies in your stomach before a big date, both from excitement and mild alarm, but try not to let nerves get in the way of having a good time. What is the worst thing that could happen? Your date might not be successful or you might be compatible. What if it isn't successful? Well, there will be others! Once you realize the worst thing that could happen is not actually that bad, you should relax more. Take deep breaths and decide you are going to have fun.

Be honest

When you are on a date, be yourself! This includes being honest and not telling far-fetched yarns to impress your date. The odds are that he will see right through them and wonder why you feel the need to lie in order to impress him. Your life is interesting and everyone has good stories to tell. Just talking about your hobbies and interests is fine for a first date. Avoid prying questions and do not discuss past relationships or anything gloomy. The first date should be light-hearted and fun and telling tall tales will only get you into trouble when your date realizes they were not true.

These are just three helpful tips. The most important thing is to be yourself. If the two of you feel a mutual attraction and interest in one another, there will probably be more dates and who knows? You might even have found yourself a lifetime partner.
