People in Indian culture or other Asian cultures believe in a concept called "arranged marriage", which effectively rejects dating altogether. This saves the single person an awful lot of time by simply selecting a suitable mate from a proverbial "pool" of possibilities. An arranged marriage appears to be the easiest way possible to skip the arduous chore of actually having to impress someone and move directly on to the "good stuff".

Dating is very different in terms of cultural relevance, depending on the part of the world and the culture in it. For many, dating is an aspect of life that comes with the territory of finding a suitable mate. For others, dating is a religious experience that relates to finding a spiritual companion. For still others, dating is simply a game to be played. Regardless of the aspects of dating throughout the world's cultures, some form of it exists in all societies.
